How to Get Your Blue CSCS Card

To qualify for the Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card, you’ll need:

  1. A Level 2 NVQ in a recognised construction occupation like Cavity Wall Insulation
  2. A valid CITB Health, Safety & Environment (Operatives) Test passed within the last two years

Yes. This qualification is assessed entirely on-site, allowing you to earn while you learn. You’ll build a portfolio of evidence based on the work you already do, with no need to attend college or take time off work.

Yes. The level 2 cavity wall insulation NVQ meets recognised industry standards and is accepted by employers and contractors delivering projects under PAS 2035, ECO, and other energy efficiency frameworks.

  • Obtain an NVQ Level 6: Complete an NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management, demonstrating your skills and knowledge.
  • Get a Black CSCS Card: Achieve the NVQ Level 6 qualification to be eligible for the Black CSCS card, which is necessary for Managing onsite.
  • Meet Additional Requirements: Fulfil other requirements, such as relevant work experience and passing the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test.

No exams are required. Assessment is based on site observation, evidence from your work (such as photos and documents), and discussions with your assessor.
