Red CSCS Card

This card is available if you are a trainee or experienced worker and registered for a qualification that leads to a skilled CSCS card

Why get a Red CSCS card?

If you have at least one year’s experience of working on a construction site, but hold no industry-recognised qualifications, this temporary card will make it easier to show prospective employers you can perform skilled tasks.

Once you have registered for a relevant SVQ or NVQ you can apply for the Experienced Worker Card, which will prove that you are taking steps towards gaining a recognised construction qualification. Once you have successfully completed your industry-recognised qualification you will be able to apply for a Blue, Gold or Black skilled  card, which is valid for five years.

The card is valid for 5 year as a Trainee and 1 year for an experianced worker both  can not be renewed.

*Prior to applying for the  card applicants must have completed the appropriate CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test.

On completion of your qualification, you are expected to move onto the appropriate skilled CSCS card for your occupation. The CSCS cardfinder will tell you which card to apply for.

Please note: SSSTS, SMSTS and NEBOSH General will not be accepted as routes to a Trainee card.
